Hallo

Well - this trip got a 'frame': I started off in Malawi
three weeks ago - and the journey will end here in Blantyre, Malawi.

Nun - diese Reise hatte einen 'Rahmen" - Malawi: von hier startete ich vor 3 Wochen und nun findet dieser Afrika - Trip hier sein Ende.

Blantyre, Malawi - nice city in the mountain region of this country.
I was visiting a school for mechanics - Evangelical Church of Malawi is running the program.
Blantyre, Malawi - ein schoener Ort in den Bergen. Habe heute eine Ausblidungsschule von Hilfe fuer Brueder besucht, die hier auf dem Gelaende der "Evangelikale Kirche Malawis" betrieben wird.

Graduation 2007 NTBI Jackson

Dear friends and school mates of NTBI Jackson,

David was knowing what he was talking about. He was aware about who God is.
He was familiar with God's character and attributes - out of his experiential knowledge.
God was revealing himself to David - because David was trusting in Him.

Just a few month ago - actually one year ago - I graduated from NTBI Jackson.
I was a great and wonderful day - the last day a met many of my class mates, and many of you - my school mates. Well - let's say - college colleagues :-)
I was taught great and wonderful things at NTBI - especially: to love the WORD and to meditate on it - how to change 'word knowledge' into 'experiential knowledge' or 'practical wisdom.' I'm still working on it: how to gain knowledge and wisdom in the understanding od HIS word.

GRADUATION 2007 - it's YOUR DAY and OUR LORDS day too!
I'm praying for you all - that he might bless and lead you in a way that is or will be
TO HIS GLORY!

Endlich Mosambik!
Hier einige Orte, die wir schon gesehen haben:
Milange - Mocuba - Ile - Mulewala - sowie einige Orte mitten im Busch!
Die Nachbarn meiner Schwester sind aus den USA und mit PeaceCorps hier unterwegs. Ich durfte mich zu ihnen in den Unterricht reinsetzen und zuhoeren: Biologie und English. Sie kommen aus Michigan, ganz in der Naehe von Jackson, wo ich studiert habe...
Ihre Kollegin ist aus Idaho und wird uns Morgen zum Wasserfall von Gurue begleiten.
Ich durfte am letzten Wochenende aus dem Kurs ‚Auf festen Grund gebaut' unterrichten. Lektion 23 war dran - Mose und Israel in der Wueste... War spannend. Ich habe English gesporchen und meine Schwester hat alles ins Portugiesische uebertragen. War spannend - insbesondere wenn sie etwas nachfragen musste - dann gings muttersprachlich (siebenbuergisch Saechsisch) oder Deutsch weiter J
Am naechsten Samstag darf ich dann wieder lehren - die Zehn Gebote. In Longwe, der Stammessprache in dieser Gegend, gibt es kein Altes Testament. Das wird gerade uebersetzt. Nur die Psalmen und das Neue Testament sind vorhanden und auch die christliche Gemeinde der Evangelikalen Kirche von Mosambik kennt die christlichen Lebensweise, so wie die Apostel ihn gelehrt haben, nicht - da ihnen das Alte Testament fehlt und sie daher vieles nicht verstehen koennen. Der Lebensstil vieler Christen hier verherrlicht
Gott nicht...
Der Missionar, der die Gemeinde vor etwa hundert Jahren hier gruendete, erlag nach wenigen Jahren einer Krankheit und konnte daher keine fest gegruendete Gemeinde hinterlassen. Viele Pastoren kennen zwar die Wahrheit, lehren sie aber nicht, da sie selber nicht danach leben wollen. Eine weit verbreitete Ausrede fuer den suendigen und Gott verachtenden Lebenswandel ist: die Suende hat mich ueberfallen und ich konnte nichts dagegen tun. Nun - nicht nur in diesen Breitengraden wird Gott fuer selbstverschuldetes
Elend beschuldigt...

Finally we got to enter into Mozambique. I've seen already a couple of places called …
Milange - Mocuba - Ile - Mulewala - and some villages in the middle of nowhere - say 'bush'J

The neighbours of my sister are from Michigan. I got to sit in their classes. They are with Peace Corps here and they teach Biology and English to the 8th graders. Its fun to have them here and to talk again "American English"

Tomorrow we will be in Gurrue. Bethany, she is with Peace Corps, will join us. She is from Iowa and she will join us for a walk to the Waterfalls of Gurue…
On Saturday I will teach again out of the NTM material - "Firm Foundations- Creation to Ressurection". I was teaching last Saturday already on lesson 23 - in English. My sister was translating into Portuguese. I was fun - we both spoke a foreign language during this lesson. Only sometime we got stucked - so we switch to German or our mothers toungue - Transylvanian GermanJ It will be again fun - we will teach the lesson on the 10 commandments. This belivers here have only the New Testament in Longwe
- so, they don´t know the ten commandments. The way they live is just terrible and not exalting God at all. That's very sad. The missionary that founded this churches (Evangelical Church of Mosambique) - he dyed a few years after arriving in this area. SO - he was not able to teach this people how to live the Christian live. AIDS is a problem in Africa ´- also the way how people live including the Christian…
Well… hopefully next time better news from Ile in the province of Zambezia in Mozambique…

DIESE MESSAGE KOMMT PER FUNK - airmail - UND WIRD DIREKT AUF MEINEM BLOG GEPOSTET!
Dienstag, 8. 5. Der Nationalpark Liwonge am Shire Fluss in Malawi ist sehr schoen. Kurz nach eintreffen in unserem Quartier - einer Lodge (Herberge) mittem im Park - konnten wir in der Ferne eine Herde Elephanten in der Flussebene beobachten. Es gab ein tolles Mittagessen und dann eine Fahrt auf dem Shire, der suedlich aus des Malawisees durch Malawi fliesst. Wir konnten viele Hippos - Flusspferde - und verschiedene Kormorane beobachten. Leider waren auch einige Wilderer unterwegs und die Tiere sind
aus diesem Grund sehr scheu. Auch ist z. Zt. hier Herbst - es regnet und alles ist gruen, so dass man viele Tiere nicht beobachten kann, da sie nicht gezwungen sind an den Fluss zu kommen. Am Abend gab es ein tolles Essen - es gab sogar meine Lieblingsspeise: Blumenkohl. Wir sassen mit Suedafrikanern, Belgiern, Briten, Amerikanern und Hollaendern zu Tisch. Afrikaner und Inder hatten das Essen vorbereitet. Ja, die Deutschen aus Namibia hatte ich vergessen, die wir auf der Bootstour durch den PArk
angetroffen haben.

´Liwonge`located south of the Malawi Lake on the Shire River is very beautiful. A few minutes after arriving at the Lodge in the middle of the parc we got to see some elephants walking through the parc close to the river. After a tasty lunch we went for a boat tour on the Shire River to see some Hippos. There have not been a lot of other animals around. Because of the rain the animals are not forced to come to the river for water. So they hide in the bush and are very shy because of hunters too.
For dinner we got to know people from Belgium, Netherland, America,and SOuth Africa. I got to eat my favorite food too: cola flower. Well - I forgot the Germans from Namibia, the guys we met on the boats tour.

Wir fuhren frueh los, um Elephanten zu sehen. Nach langen und schweren Kilometern gaben wir auf und kehrten um - und wurden dann doch noch gesegnet: einige Meter vor unserem Auto ueberquerte eine Herde Elephanten die Strasse:-)
Wir kehrten nach einem tollen Fruehstueck nach Blantyre zurueck, wo wir in einem Einkaufzentrum zu Mittag gegessen haben und fuer Mosambik verschiedenes einkaufen konnten, was es in jenem Land nicht gibt. Am naechsten Morgen sollte es naemlich ueber die Grenye gehen... nach Mosambik, dem Land, in dem meine Schwester seit einigen Jahren lebt und arbeitet...

We got early up - to see the animals walking from the bush towards the water. After a long drive on awful roads we decided to drive back - a little bit disappointed for missing the elephants.
But got blessed us and we got to see a small herd of elephants crossing the road just a few meter (yards:-)) in front of us...
In the afternoon we made it back to Blantyre and went for shopping and lunch in a mall - to purchase different things you cannot buy in Mozambique. We prepared for the next morning - to enter into Mozambique, the country where my sister in living and working for a couple of years...

Waren gestern in einer Toepferei und haben bei der Arbeit zugesehn und auch schon mal Souveniers gekauft... heute sind wir in Blantyre/Malawi.
...morgen gehts dann in einen Nationalpark - um Loewen?! zu treffen:-)

via Amsterdam/Netherland, Nairobi/Kenia, Lusaka/Zambia I made it to Lilongwe/Malawi.
On the way to Blantyre/Malawi we stopped at a pottery and watched the potter, and got our first African souveneers...
...tommorrow we will be at a National Parc on the Malawi Lake to date some lions :-)
